Thumbs down Car rattle-Please help...

I have a 2005 convertible/turbo (81.000 miles) which has suddenly got this rattle thing going. It only happens when I have the car in gear. When I put it neutral or in park it stops. It's not real loud but it definitely rattles the dash (right hand side). I tried to read through many threads but have had no luck.

I plan on giving the car a tune up with NGK#4306 spark plugs (.35? gap) (torque?) and the best wires available (can't seem to find the how to and tools needed yet). My eye's feel like their falling out of my skull right now from all the reading.

Is there any insight that anyone can provide to this problem I'm having? I'm not sure what to look for next. Again, I am grateful for any feedback provided...

Run stock champion plugs, MP(Mopar Performance Blue) wires and check your motor mounts. Also I would yank the Throttle Body and take the TPS and AIS off it and give a good cleaning.

I would look under the car and try to see if something is loose, maybe a heat sheild

OK, I gave my car a tune up today and the rattle is still there. Is there a how to: yank the Throttle Body and take the TPS and AIS off in order to give it a good cleaning? (2005 vert.turbo). It's not for lack of trying as I've googled and searched this forum. I still come up with no instructions or pictures. This would help determine what I'm looking for.. Thanks in advance for any direction.

Right hand side? Oh boy... you need to look at your engine mounts. When you are putting torque to the engine, as in drive or reverse, it's wanting to twist slightly from that torque. I would say you likely either have something loose in the engine bay or got an engine mount going.

Unhappy Re: Car rattle-Please help...

Thanks for all the feedback VNT and Chromenut. I finally was able to look under the car and found that the lower motor mount is bad. I also noticed that both front lower control bushings need to be replaced as well. I talked with a local tech and he said he would recommend replacing the upper motor mount as well. What do you guys think?

I also talked to him about the timing belt. He said it's hard to tell when I should change it. He's had cars break belts around 70,000 to over 100,000. He said it's recommended around 100,000. He said it was up to me since I have 81,000 miles on mine.

He said he would charge me $400 for labor if I brought him the parts. It looks to be around $600 total. Good deal?

Here are the parts I was looking to get. Am I on target? Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance for any feedback provided. You guys/Forum are Awesome!!!

Your mechanic is giving you a great deal - I would also have the serpentine belt changed (alternator, A/C, etc)
