you can if someone moves the line out of the way.
I got a ratchet that clicks with only 5 degrees of motion so was able to get it on that 3rd bolt. With the BOV the damn bolt is pushed another 1/2" forward making it impossible to get to without pushing the oil line aside.

I could not use a socket on bolt 3. You need a small wrench. I could only use a 1/4" socket set on the others. It is very close in there. It helps if you take a major screwdriver and VERY SLIGHTLY bend the oil line that blocks bolt 3 to the side.
It helps to have a set of hands below and a set of hands above![|)]

When I asked the dealer-monkeys the cost of installing the BOV, they asked me "How do you install that?" I said nevermind and ordered it myself; it is on its way.

Plenty of people on here have done it and explained it (Check out Saki's pictures--don't forget to look at the BOV one, heh.) to where you have enough information to DIY with no surprises. You save a few bucks and have the satisfaction of knowing it was done properly.

I would like to paint the exposed edge of mine. Bad idea? (heat is my concern)

Our local dealer wanted $150 to do the install, so I asked my husband to do it instead. He said it was kind of hard, but he did it. It took him about 1 1/2 hours, but he said he worked very slowly and carefully, and he didn't have anything to raise up the car to install from underneath. Anyway, he loves to "work" on my PT, even though he is definitely NOT a mechanic! It's my baby, but his toy!

Maybe you could do the install yourself. He said it's good if you have a socket wrench and small hands, and make sure the engine is cold. We plan to have Chrysler just check the tightening of the bolts when we take it in for the next maintenance, just to be sure.

He says it is a good mod, but I will have to get used to the funny sound.
Hey SC!

No Rhino ramps? How does he change the oil?

I guess a bunch of universal-joint sockets to rival that of a Chinese parade is out of the question?

What should they be torqued at? My kit has not arrived yet and I need to buy torque wrenches anyway.

My dealer charges one hour, it's a very esay installation.

Remove the airbox, move the power box to the right and just remove the BOV and install the plate.
