Has anyone purchased and installed the Mopar 2.5" cat-back yet? I want to know if the dual exhaust interfers with removing the spare-tire? I drop my spare (rear seats too) when hitting the strip and don't want to have to remove the 2nd tailpipe to get the spare out.
Also, I read somewhere that the Borla cat-back systems are not true 2.5" but actually 2.375 inch diameter...can anyone verify that?[:I] Thanks in advance ![]() Deen |

I installed the Mopar cat-back a couple of weeks ago. The pipe leading to the passenger side tip goes around the spare so you won't have problems with that. However, both pipes comming out of the muffler to the tips are only 1.75", the rest of the system is 2.5". BTW I absolutely love this system (although I also have a 3" downpipe so it's tough to say how good the cat-back alone performs).

Thanks Divots! I'm no engineer here but I would think that two 1.75" pipes would flow as much as one 2.5" pipe (you engineer types can jump in anytime). How about the noise factor...do you get a drone at freeway speeds? Also, are the tips 1.75" or do they flare out?

It's kind of tough to describe a drone on the internet since everyones perception of what's "loud" is different. That said, to me this exhaust barely produces any freeway drone. Nothing that can't be cured by cranking up the Metallica (which is normally how I ride around anyway). The tips flare out to around 2 5/8". Here's a pic:

hehe, a few years ago I walked into a computer store, "I just blew my speakers apart. I need something that can handle this (showed Master of Puppets CD) and Quake at the same time." LOL |
