That was the first thing I did to my car back in may. it is a big improvement over the stock piece. it seams to spool quicker and it sounds a lot better

What did you use? Do you have it bent so that there are no edges in the direction of the airflow? I have not taken that apart yet, seeing what you pioneers find, heh.

Uhhh, I'm lost. It seems like a lot of work for something that a piece of flexhose like this could do.

the flex hose would work but it would destrub the air flow and I want Chrome, and a smooth air flow, for that little bit of more power, if you look at www.ptcw.truckmoxie.com/amx1397/ you will see why. this is why the PT Cruiser is in different colors so we can all have what we want and like.

i rigged up a custom 3" inlet pipe running from the turbo to where the air box is...the sound is phenomenal, it spools up much quicker, and throttle is more responsive. To accompany it you should pick up a good catback exhaust. The rule of thumb is the more air you can get to a turbo, and the more air you can get out from a turbo, the better it will run...

Hi Jim, Mel from the club here. Are you planning on making these to sell? Also, any thoughts about the extra heat transfer of the chrome, from the engine vs. the insulated piping on the stock unit.

at spped of 10mph or faster yes i said 10 (ten) the air goes through the engine so fast that it does not have time to get hot, the turbo heats the air, that is why we have the intercooler , the cooler the intake air, meand the turbo will not heat the air as much....the chrome will let hotter air into the intake than the pvc, or rubber type if you have the stock intake, drive for 1/2 hour and put your hand all over the intake and air box it will be cool, now let it set for 5 min, put your hand over it again it wil now be hoter if you have a metel intake do the same test but after the 5min. be careful it will be HOT drive for 3min and it is cool again I personaly like the chrome as my car goes to shows, so it is a show and go pt-gt.
