I just purchased a Greddy A/F guage. Question: the manual says the O2 Sensor requires 5-6 full throttle runs (10 minutes) to break in.. How have others dealt with this, short of taking it to a dyno? would a 3hr road trip heat it up enough, even though it isn't full throttle?

"5-6 full throttle runs (10 minutes) " you will be in the next state!!

no kidding! I'm hoping a 3 hr 75-80mph trip up to detroit would do the trick. otherwise I guess I get to take it to the local "import tuners" shop and let them install/break it in for me on the rollers...

hey jason, i've been reading that you cannot use the stock O2 sensor to tap into as this with steal voltage from it a trip a trouble code, you need to buy a seperate O2 sensor (or did you do this already)

actually guys, Autometer makes some kind of adapter kit for this. The VW 1.8T has the same problem. Any one with the catalog can find it in the back section...it is also on the website catalog, under accessories or something like that.

autometer sells a seperate O2 sensor:
page 87 of the 2003 catalogue. |

It came with it's own sensor, weldment/bung, etc.. seems to be a nice set-up really, but a bit pricey (400 bucks for the Greddy boost and A/F guages, and thats well under MSRP!) - I had to buy it all before i changed my mind
next is fuel and oil pressure, and probably the passport g-timer (or one of the other "in car dyno's"). Unlike my previous car projects, I told myself I wouldn't start messing with any upgrades until I had all this already in place ![]()
