Default Chip Question for 06 Converible GT Turbo

I'm looking for a little extra boost to the performance on my 06 GT Turbo and a friend told me changing the chip was the best route to go if not looking to make a bunch of huge changes.

Is this accurate and if so, which chip works best with my Cruiser?

Thank you!

Stay away from platinum plugs, they will not last in the heat generated by a turbo and are a waste of money. Granetelli's are the best wires, my opinion. I've had three sets of different performance wires and the Grans were the best. The chips are a joke, stay far, far away from them! I'd suggest a DiabloSport Predator, but since you have an automatic I'm not so sure about the gains you'll get with that programmer. There are Stage 1 performance modules out there, but not sure any were ever made for the CANBUS systems in the '06 and up. Definitely you'll want to modify your airbox and get a K&N type drop-in filter. Make sure you're not running dyno oil, put good synth in there instead. Run a can of Seafoam through the fuel, that cleans the internals and injectors really well. Just my suggestions so far.

Ive never heard of "chiping" a pt. Ive seen them on ebay and such, but I dont think they actually work. Youd be more successful with an S1 PCM Id imagine (little work, more $$).

Short of the airbox mod with K&N, some nice plugs, intake hard pipe, and a little placebo. I cannot think of anything that is a smaller (cheaper) mod that will give you too much more umph.

If you try the chip, and it works... let me know.

Some people have the Jet Chip at ptcrew and they say it works.

Yep, forgot about that, the hose from your airbox to your turbo, called the TTAB (Turbo To Air Box) is a flex-hose and tends to collapse when you are at WOT, then expand when you let off. Flexible rubber, especially when it's really hot. We suggest changing to a hard pipe setup. Here's a pic of mine, you can see the stainless pipes I've put on. I also have the down-pipe to the IC, and the other side of the IC (the hot pipe), are all stainless on mine. No boost leaks and you'll notice an immediate quicker throttle response.

Only because they are too embarrassed to tell the truth, they were ripped off by a snake oil salesman. I've been told, to my face, from one member, that he gained 180 horsepower from that jet chip. Now that's the biggest lie I've ever heard involving a PT. I've got a complete S2 setup, minus clutch, and am only at 321hp, 325lb ft tq, on the dyno. There's no way you can chip a car and go beyond that!!!
