Default MEXICANPT...Just Curious...

You said you are able to drive at high speed down where you live. Do you remember how many RPM's you are turning in 5th gear when you reached the speed limiter (130 MPH)? I just remember when I hit 110 MPH one time that I still had a long way to go before reaching redline. Kinda makes me wonder how fast our GT's would go if they weren't speed limited...

The tack shows about 5300 RPM.

I have calculated that we could be doing 149-150 MPH @ 6000 RPM if our cars were not limited.

I can e-mail you a spreadsheet where you can calculate this for both manual and autostick gt's.

i'm going out a limb here, but how does the PCM know the speed? Could a person "clamp" the speed input to the PCM (if there is one) in the same manner folks do with the MAP sensors? Set it so the PCM never thinks you're running over 110mph or something?

i not an expert, but if u had ur computer upgraded or reprogramed u should e able to find a way around the limter

You have e-mail.
Off the top of my head I don't remember where our peak HP occurs...once we get past the peak the Cruiser is not going to gain any top speed...unless we have a tail-wind. Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm not sure, all the cars I've had in the past achieved their top speed past the HP peak.
