Default Tailpipe Cutouts

I'm going to be getting the Mopar 2 1/2" exhaust so I'm going to have to make a cutout for the right side pipe. What are people doing for the cutout? The trim pieces I see aren't for the turbo cut out and I will need two of them to finish off both cut outs.

Actually, the Dream 1 isn't a turbo so the cut out trim pieces would fit. How about those with turbos with duals?

I just left mine "un-trimmed". BTW if you get the Mopar duals, don't use the supplied template for the cutout. Mine did not match the factory shape at all. Just make your own template using the driver's side cutout.

Aloha,
Mark

I bought my BTG duals in Oct '02 and I don't think anyone realized the trim pieces wouldn't fit a GT. They don't fit very well, but if you're really committed you can make them work anyway. It's hard to get the screws in (they have to go in crooked) but not impossible. I considered it worth the trouble.

The pass side facia cuts easily. I bought the cutout trims specifically because I had to cut the passenger side. There is an issue with the trims because the drivers side facia cutout is wider for the GT than the NA. If installed carefully they fit fine. I used small stainless bolts and nuts on the drivers side to attach the trim cutout. That gave me more room for adjustment and a tighter fit to the facia and it made no difference that the attaching bolts were crooked. You can't even tell. There is just 1 little spot on the right side of the cutout trimplate that shows. You have to look real close to see it. Here's a pic.....

I cut the facia with tin snips and didn't install cutout trim. I smoothed the cut with a file and sandpaper and you can't tell without getting on your hands and knees. If someone comes out with cutout trims that fit right I will get them.
