Skeeter,

"Flashing" is just another way of saying the dealer hooks up your computer with the shops machine and all the settings in your computer are set up/back to the manufacturers OEM specifications. If you ever had your computer optimized by an aftermarket company for better performance, "flashing" will set your computer back to the normal settings as it came off the assembly line. Some 01 and possibly early 02 PTs needed to have the computer flashed to obtain better gas mileage and correct a couple of small problems.

It's your car's firmware, just like your computer's BIOS.

Now we need to just reverse engineer it and modify it to taste.
