Default Mopar catback

I'm dropping my BTG catback because it's a 2.25" setup, I'm getting the Mopar catback.

Has anyone tried it? how does it sound? any pics? does the second outlet interfere with the spare tire? my car is lowered with eibachs, will I hit every speed bump?

I'd really appreciate your input.

I know that you would probably drop your current system for more power, but for the sake of sanity, do you have any way to monitor power output now with the BTG setup before you install the Mopar setup.

I just talked to the BTG folks, they have experimented with 2 1/2 " and found very little reason to go with a 2 1/2 over their dual 2 1/4" setup. More real performance could be gained in a turbo setup at the upper end of the exhaust system (downpipe and CAT).

You have a good point Kirby, I'm doing this to prepare for Stage II (it's stated that you need a 2.5")

I installed the Mopar cat-back today. It was an easy install that I did in my garage myself. It fits perfectly and does not interfere with the spare tire. It is only slightly lower than a stock exhaust. The sound is deeper than stock and is not loud at all. I live in NJ and we had snow today so I was not able to test for performance improvements.

The complete kit.

No clearance problems.

After looking at that dual I am at a loss. How does it flow more than a single? After looking at the back(really towards the front)of those pipe bends how can it do any good? I will take a single with BTG axel back over that octypipe dual I think.

I totally agree. Even at 2 1/4 the btg is going to flow better than "octypipe". It should be straight through and so much for the mandatory 2.5" exhaust for stage II, appears to me that the tail pipes ar 2 1/4? Look at what the SRT's are running and they are not loud at all.

No offence to ksquared11(looks good), I just don't think they're offering us the best system for performance.

I like the look of the BTG duals 3 resonators and straight thru pipe . the closest to making it like the srt .I like the sound of the srt deep yet not to loud

I have the Borla 2.5" cat-back ordered with the drivers side single outlet (two tail-pipes on drivers side). Once I get my scanner and digital software running again and the system installed I'll get someone to host the pictures. I ordered the single exhaust over the duals for a couple of reasons:
I didn't want to cut the car and I didn't want the extra pipe (and weight) hanging under the rear of the car, plus the twin tail-pipes will be unique since the vast majority of owners either have one single outlet or have converted to duals.
Supposedly the Borla 2.5" single cat-back is just as efficient and free-flowing as the Borla/Mopar duals.

ksquared11, is the is the ID of the Mopar exhaust 2 1/2" or is the 2 1/2" measured at OD which would make the ID measurement at 2 3/8"?

I think it's OD, I'm having second thoughts.
