3inches to 2.25? Seems a bit pointless to me [:I]
I'm not saying that it's the "Ideal" setup but it's much better than 2.25" all the way through. Plus you can always just cut off the 2.25" section and weld on a 3" to 2.5" reducer. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Aloha,
Mark

p.s. Mexicanpt, I just replied to your email
I bet a local speed shop couldve custom fabbed you an alumminized 3 inch downpipe. I dont have an exact price because Im kinda doing stuff in stages...but by march Ill know for sure.

Its like buying Stage I when you want the power of Stage II... [:I]

I'm sure that in Florida you folks have a lot of shops who can do great custom exhaust work for you. Out here in Honolulu our options are a bit more limited. For example there are no shops who can do mandrel bent systems. Many won't replace a fully functioning cat due to legal reasons. While there are some shops work who do nice work I would have ended up paying just as much as what I paid Hector (including shipping!!), plus I didn't have any downtime from leaving my car at the shop.

When you live on a rock in the middle of the Pacific you learn to live with the reality of having less available resources and just do what you gotta do. It's part of the "Price of Paradise".

Aloha,
Mark

Ah I see..understandable. Bah. Florida has some good speed shops but nothing like California...youre so close. Maybe a normal exhaust place could do it....wouldnt hurt to look.

Does the CEL come up if you remove the cat
I believe it was posted that stage I after cat o2 sensor is ignored, so unless the increased flow past the upstream o2 sensor causes a problem the system should not set a code. I imagine you do need to keep it plugged in though? These are only assumptions.
MEXICANPT that atp down pipe is awesome and you can swap a test pipe in and out in about 5 minutes, sweet. Did you contact them to see how it would fit on a PT? I emailed them but have yet to receive a reply.

Yeah, it's like 3" short for the PT GT, but the shop I'm getting my 3" exhaust custom made in will take care of that too.

A very very good source told me that three inch exhaust, from down pipe all the way out the back, is pretty much only going to help from 60 MPH on up. That from light to light or quick getem up to speed type of driving it is kind of a waste of $$. But if you got it spend it. And he also said that he is very impressed with the factory plumbing but toss the muffler from a better flowing one. Not all of us are at the strip every weekend. I would like to but........

Exhaust IS for high end. I need to solve that problem of cars inching past me from 80-12? []

I agree that a 3" system will hel the most at the top end, but like I've said before I can drive pretty much as fast as I want to most of the time here in Mexico.

My only doubt now is if deleting the cat will bring with it a CEL.

I'd say it's really more top-end as in higher in the rpm band (not just mph)..
