..as cruserdad pointed out, you gave us almost nothing to go by in order for us to help out.

Would you go into a doctors office and say "it hurts, please help".

If you just bought it last night, why not call the seller and tell him it doesn't work, you want you money back. Apparently he fixed up just enough for you to get home.

I have tried to contact him, he lives about 2 hrs away, and I reeaally like this car. I just was not prepared to put it in the shop as soon as I bought it. I have been searching for a vehicle for 3 mths and finally found this one. FML!! And like I said it was perfect last night. It started fine 7-8 xs It was apparently an extra car for this family because there were 6 of them in the driveway., and I could tell it hadnt been moved because it was completely dry underneath and no tire marks in the 7 inches of snow, so he hadnt driven it. And I have never been apart of these online forums and wasn't sure if anyone would answer me so I was waiting for a response and thats pretty much why I didnt o into detail. I am ultimately taking it to the shop but can do some thimgs myself so Im praying for an easy fix.

GenniMae,

Sounds like the PT standing in one place and not being used affected something like the electrical system. Corrosion might have set in or something else that I can't think of at the moment. When you jump started it, did you give it a chance for the voltage/battery to charge up? Was it making good contact between the good battery and yours? It might have built up condensation in the fuel tank and you just got it home in time. Just thinking out loud. It's going to have to be looked over for fuel pressure and good spark by someone with the proper tools.

So that we understand the problem-

It does crank, but won't start?

When you said RPM's went up, you meant it 'fired' a few times but not enough to run,
OR
It did run, but only for a moment

If it's a manual, tow it and let clutch out in 2d or 3d gear- See if it starts then.

When cars get old, they need work. If you are willing to do simple things,
like remove filter box and clean battery terminal, you can save a lot of
money and likely do a better job than paid help.

Sometimes boys are good to have around- They're happy to help women
on their cars. We're not much good for much anything else, tho.
