Default Which Option?

I have two options for my 2 1/2" catback exhaust. The first is the Borla single (T-304 stainless steel, mandrel bends) on sale for $467 and free shipping ($$ installation?). The second is getting the Heartthrob single (16 gauge aluminized pipe and mandrel bends) from JC Whitney for $225 including shipping. I would take the Hearttrob to a muffler shop, have the muffler cut off and have a resonator and chrome tip welded on (can aluminized pipe be welded?). This would be a totally free flow system. I don't think this would be too loud. I figure total cost for this would be $325-350 with install. I'm leaning towards this. What do you think?

I am leaning with you if you are trying for max power. If, on the other hand you want it to last forever and don't want the dreaded drone at 3,000 rpm's lean the other way! My first choice is the Borla 2.5" duals! But I like a little quiet in my life!!

Keep looking at the Borla. You can find them for around $410 if I remember right. I have had mine on for a week now I am very satisfied ( I was able to find a set used...thanks Ant). Everyone talks about getting more power etc. Honestly I could feel some differnce in the upper RPM range but as a general rule you will not feel a huge difference. Get something that you like the looks and sound of. On just about any car that they sell aftermarket exhaust system for, it is really more about show than go unless you are making big engine mods too. I have modified the exhaust on just about every car I have ever owned with Borlas, Bassani and Flowmasters and it just doesn't change things that much.

Except that turbo cars respond very well to exhausts, not like N/A cars.

Mean Green,

I would contact tthrift, I remember him posting somewhere that he could get the Mopar exhaust for $399 I think.

While this is a true statement you still are not going to feel a huge difference...really. I have had 2 turbo cars before this one. It is just not a kick in the pants like say a Stage 1 upgrade. It is just baby steps.
