A resonator is agood idea, takes out the harshness, mellows it out a little bit.

A really good set up is a straight pipe with Magnaflow muffler. Magnaflows are a straight through design, no baffling to disrupt air flow. I've had really good luck with Magnaflow on my last 3 turbo cars.

Built this exact set up for my SRT. I have a 3 inch race pipe with no cat and the system is quieter at idle, slightly louder at wot, and slightly more resonance inside the car (when compared to the stock SRT exhaust). Tone is deep and mellow, sort of like a G35.

Hope to be producing these systems for the SRT in about a month, and for the GT soon after.

Like someone else said with a turbo there is no need for the exhaust to make the engine have any back presure bucause the turbo takes care of that and takes out some of the harshness of the sound. I would say to drive it around with no resonators untill you get pulled over and have to fix it.. definatly a cat and a muffler is all you would need unless you are saying you are just going cat and resonator.. then try it with just the cat for a week or so and see how it sounds.. wouldnt cost that much for someone to put a 3" galss pack on or a resonator.. I would not put any resonators on .. My .02

Sorry about bringing back an old topic, but I finally got the resonators put on my car. It sounds great! It took out some of the harshness that it had. Before driving it at 70 mph it had a really bad droan inside. If you sat in the back you couldn't here the people up front. It also still has some of the bite that had so people still know that it isn't just a regular PT.

I'm planning on pulling off my exhaust after the cat this weekend and just installing a turn down until i get a shop to bend me some pipes that just dump at the side in front the rear wheels (probably with the blue-anodized super-trapps on them - I might still do a cut-out down the road some time). I haven't climbed under and looked at it yet though..
