Default Typhoon= FIPK K&N?

Are they the same or different?
I've read that the dyno results were good with the 'typhoon' - is it the same as the FIPK? Certainly like the looks of the metal systems better...

I guess there is a difference the typhoon which I have does not have a heat barier but the FIPK does! I read here that they both have the same dyno numbers and the Typhoon is cheaper by a few bucks! I know I love my Typhoon!!

some of the tyhpoon, are chrome BUT 2 1/2 " and pulls HOT air, the brand-X is 3" and used with factory air box or some like the airaid and you have cold air, I will be testing the temp of stock air system (temp) of the turbo and piping and then with the 3" brand-X temp of turbo and intake manifold.

Not sure what you mean by plastic! The Typhoon as best as I can tell uses a smooth metal pipe about 2.5". Love to see what hot air does for performance cause K&N says the difference is very minimal!! I know I drove mine in over 110 degree heat this summer with no problems as to driveability.

a 3" vers a 2 1/2" brand x with factory air box compaired to the air box replacement type that pulls the hot air. The 3" pulls better mpg, top speed, better spooling of the turbo, runs cooler temp of the turbo, will post temps soon. 1/4 mile times are 3" = 14.85 . the same car with 2 1/2" 14.91, see the post on thispage dated 1-30-04 "AMX turbo to air box installed" by LAF and just so you understand different manf. make different intakes for the PT and the GT and we all can't look the same so you like brand -x and others like airaid, and others like the factory system. personaly the amx1397 is the best runs ths coolest and gives you more mpg and more power. see this post also, "BTG has a new intake"
