Talking Pass emissions test with no cat?

I'm thinking of getting a catless neeedswings down pipe and was wondering if I'd be able to pass emissions test without it. I heard the stage 1 I'm waiting for doesnt read the O2 sensor by the cat so the computer won't kno if u have one or not. Is this true? Will I pass emissions tests without a cat?

A lot of places have a visual inspection besides the sniff test. If they see the CAT is missing you failed. Better find out if that's the way they do it in your state.

Exclamation Re: Pass emissions test with no cat?

If worse comes to worst I'll just get a high flow cat. Cuz I'm looking on the neeedswings site and they don't seem to have downpipes with cats.

I vaguely remember needswings having a high-flow cat option (think it was a Magnaflow) but I guess it's not available anymore.

As for passing without a cat, I wouldn't bother trying but if you insist, I suggest going to those places that let's you test and if you fail you pay nothing.

And yes, you're correct about Stage 1. It doesn't utilize the downstream o2 sensor however if you're on stock PCM and you remove your cat, you'll get a P0420 engine code and we all know engine codes = automatic fail.

Thanks for the heads up I actually found the downpipe with cat on the needswings site. It was in the neon SRT 4 section.
