Default Timing belt replacement

Wellll, it's getting to be about that time. My Cruiser has just passed the 90K mile mark, so it's time to gather the parts for a timing belt change. I've researched the heck out of it and gonna attack this next month. Anyone care to come and play for the day... lol.
Anyway, I just noticed that Needswings has the blue Gates racing belt for under 60 bucks.

Don't forget to check out RockAuto Auto Parts where most of us got our parts for the timing belt change. They have a whole kit with upgraded tensioner, water pump and timing belt.

Thanks Crewzin, I almost forgot about Rock. They have the 4 piece Gates set for about 40 bucks cheaper than O'rielly sells it without the water pump!

It has probably been asked before but is there a specific kit you would recommend?

It'sa been about 1 1/2 years since I bought my parts at Rock Auto. I don't remember there being a complete kit but if there was, I missed seeing it. I bought individual parts, mostly Gates if I remember correctly.

I like Gates, NOT their Water pump.

I'd get a Chrysler- Everyone has seen the destroyed, 20,000 mile water pump pic from my PT

Where's the best place to source the oem pump besides the dealer? There will be beer and steaks for anyone willing to come help out...LOL

Since you have a GT, I would buy all OEM Mopar and a Gates Blue Racing belt.
You can get them at a good price at Mopar Parts Online Wholesale Prices .

Here ya go. Original Equipment water pump, not a Chrysler dealer.

carjunky - Auto Parts and Accessories Catalog - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser Water Pump

P.S. Don't drink but love Root Beer and I take my steak Medium-Well.
