Question Electric Supercharger on a gt?

Ive seen all non-turbo guys ask about the whipple bolt on electric supercharger, i know it adds 3-5 pounds of boost (because thats all it can handle) but what if i were to put it on my gt, would it do anything or even fit?

If I remember correctly, the Whipple only goes onto the first couple years of the PT and the GT didn't come out till 2003+ so I don't think it will work. Why it only fit on those years I'm not sure.

Interesting you'd do a supercharger AND a turbo charger!!!

Diesels, and WWII aircraft did this- Supercharger did low end (and low altitude) and turbo picked up high end.
Diesels it's for efficiency- Detroits would be my guess.

I don't know anything about turbo's, my *Guess* would be these guys could tell you how to achieve same/similar results with their turbo tricks (and a lot less work)

You'd need a considerable amount of storage to run a supercharger-
Germans had a two- crank aircraft diesel (That's right!) the second cylinder bank used most of it's power driving supercharger, generators, etc.
Most interesting read if your into that kind of stuff, and remarkable for anyone to think of the technology they had 65 years ago

Danger! There are some ebay scammers selling "electric" superchargers. If that's what you are refering to, they are worse than crap. Whipple is a legitimate company but I don't believe they make an electric supercharger.

And I believe Whipple no longer sells the PT supercharger they made.

Interesting that you mention that - I know it's outside of the forum, but just read an article today about the 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang. They have the same issue with the supercharging hogging up about 150 HP. The engine is dyno'd at 662 HP, but it's actually apparently producing over 800 to hit that number and run the supercharger.

Super Chargers
My other Street car project
You can make lots of HP in small places!
I can live with a 15-20% loss in parasitic drag caused by a boosted Super Charger. LOL
This 4 cylinder is under 1.85 liters
base stock engine 160hp
Modified engine 288
fuel 112 octane 322
H20/Methanol 370
N20 570+ HP

This is a proto-type engine I built and I am not sure if everything will work as I planned. The port configuration is very different than normally used. I machined everything personally with the exception of the crank and pistons that I ordered as per my specifications. The IC was my fabrcation and has some uniques featurs on it that I may incorporate on the PT?
The Super Charger is a modified version but it is not the Super Charger I will be using on that engine pictured. I am still machining parts for it. As of now it is in the toy bedroom!

Getting back on topic those ELECTRIC Super Chargers...well? Lets me say some manufactures have some merit to their product but on a boosted engine I don't see that they would help? I have talked to one of the original company owners and he could not keep up with me about "boosted" engines. His thought was to double up on them? What? lol. Anyway I have driven a car with one and surprising to me I could feel the WOT power increase with it comparing to not using it? That was on a 260Z NA F/I. Would I personally recommend them....maybe, IDK for sure depends I guess?
