Shimmed wastegates are the rage now for all turbos, good idea and lots of track time behind the modification.

This may well be a viable option along with a few other mods in liew of the S2 fiasco. (If you don't think you are being jerked around, wake up and smell the coffee!)

Remember how our gas prices went from $.50 to $1.50 back in 1973-4?

If you want to charge WAAAAAAY to much for an item, create a shortage!

I think this 500 kit thing is total fabrication!!!!![?]
maybe it's a blessing-in-disguise that we don't have atermarket WGA's yet - it SEEMS the SRT crowd is blindly buying them just because it's what a vendor suggested and everyone followed suit. There's people buying them along with MBC's who don't want to run over 15-16 psi - I'm running 14 to redline with a stock wga, and a $5 home made ball/spring MBC. $300 vs $5??

From what I am reading the cost would only be $100, not $300. Did I miss something?

AGP WGA: $150
Rage WGA: $160
turboxs MBC: $85 for standard, 135 for "HP"

in my head, i was thinking 190 for the WGA.. either way, there's a ton of guys on the srt forums with both the AGP WGA and the turboxs HP, yet MANY of them aren't running over 15-16 psi.. I am not convinced yet that they needed to buy the WGA. If it made tuning a flat boost curve easier, thats one thing, but I have seen SO MANY people there state that it's required for any increases in boost (even just the 14-16 psi level). I can say this - for 14 psi, the stock WGA is fine..

Ahhh, I understand. I don't really spend time on the SRT forum. Guess I will have to. They seem more oriented towards not relying on Mopar for HP improvements.

I'm one step ahead of you Rodrun, I spoke to zane at turbochargers.com and he told me they did install one on a GT. The GT had S1, and it put down 209 on the dyno b4 WGA. After installing WGA it put down 235, he didn't have the sheets so I can't back up those numbers. So I went ahead and ordered one for my own "research" I hope to have it next week I will keep all posted. Because we do definitely need aftermarket performance products for the GT besides Mopars so we all have options of which route to go.
