I picked up a throttle switch back in december to use for activating a second stage boost, etc.. Well, I got around to installing some of my stuff today, and I can't figure out how to get this thing mounted with out some fabrication. It's a NOS throttle switch, mounted at the t-body. Anybody every mount one of these? any suggestions?

I was also going to use their set up but I am going to wait and install stage II then see what mods will work the best. I really think that SII is going to be alot more MOD friendly! |

My set-up is currently like this:
I have a line off the tip nipple on the TB that splits off into 2 via a tee, and a line off the WGA set up tha same. one line goes from the TB to a MBC set for 14 psi, then from the MBC to one of the 2 WGA lines. The remaining line of the TB goes to a 2-way solenoid, then to the remaining WGA line. Basicly i have 2 parrallel paths from the throttle body to the WGA, one with a MBC inline, the other with a solenoid. stage 1: the solenoid is open and there is a direct path between the TB and WGA, so boost is set just from the WGA itself(5-8 or so psi). The MBC is still "live", but it will never open since the WGA is getting a signal still and keeping the boost down to that 5psi.. stage 2: currently triggered via a toggle switch, until i get the throttle switch installed. When the switch is activated, the solenoid I installed closes, shutting off the direct circuit from the TB to the WGA, leaving the MBC as the only route to the WGA (and hence the boost is raised from the 5psi to whatever I have the MBC set to. I liked the set-up scotmech and 91cav used, but when i put my set-up back to stock my boost doesn't really spike at WOT vs partial, so that hobbs switch would never get triggered only at WOT.. my boost (no S1) goes to around 7 either way. this may because the pcm has tried to compenasate for my mbc, and as soon as i put the stock WGA solenoid in the circuit it was overcompensating (i should have reset the pcm to see). I had already purchased the throttle switch to trigger a water/meth inj system and IC sprayer (neither installed yet though but I have most of the parts), so I figured I'd just tie everything off WOT. The way i figured, WOT means I want to haul-ass, otherwise keep everything "normal".. really, in the end the only real diff between mine and theirs is I wanted to use a throttle switch vs their use of the pressure switch.

Have you thought about just using a n/o switch at the accelerator pedal. Should be fairly easy to mount under the pedal. Just a thought.

I use a hurst roll control switch on the shifter to kick in stage 2 boost when needed. I have the Autostick, and it helps NOT to have stage 2 at launch but can kick it in anytime from the shifter. I also have a jet fighter switch in parallel with the Roll Control switch....
