If you are using your PT for a daily driver....remember that the original mounts were soft for a reason. The filled mounts stop wheel hop on hookup, but they also transmit a LOT of noise and vibration. Just a word to the wise![?]
hey Kirby, i am working with the poloyurethane guys that make the replacment part of the mount and they have lots of different types of poly. some harder than others some softer , i am going to try thru some trial and error to find the compound that has the best of both worlds.

wish me luck

Tommy,

Count me in.[?]

I think is a good price and I am pleased with your shipping service.

I am tired of seeing my engine rock like crazy when I accelerate... even in Neutral...

Ian
Ok, how the HECK do you accelerate in Neutral? Are you going down a hill?
Somedays, I just stand in front of the engine bay finding ways to mod the engine. I turn it on and play with the throttle linkage by hand to rev up the engine and feel the pleasent hot air of the Mopar BOV hitting my face. When I do that, I can see the engine rocking back and fourth... I will substitute Accelerate for Rev-up in my previous post...

I realy like playing with engines... Even if they are not broken[?]

Ian

Yes, they will increase vibration from the engine. You will feel it in the steering wheel and the shifter. The 2.4L enging doesn't vibrate as much as the Neon 2.0L. I have filled motor mounts on my Neon R/T -- Love 'em, killed the wheel hop and makes power launches a breeze.

I researched this a while ago and at the time the SRT4 folks were finding out that installing the top mount only was the way to go UNLESS they replaced ALL 3 mounts ( two engine mounts and one tranny mount).

There were a few people that reported they had tried just the top mount because it's easier to install. When they got around to installing the lower mount they started reporting increased wheel hop. It was only after they replaced the tranny mount also that they reported better launch control than just using the top mount.

Also a number of posts were negative on installing the inserts...seemed they kept falling out under severe use and the factory mounts were still prone to tearing/ripping with extended drag-strip duty. This pretty much persuaded me NOT to buy the inserts.

I have already purchased a poly-filled top mount (firm) but have as yet to install since the drag strip is closed for the season. When I install S2 I'll install the top mount at the same time.

My take on this is Tommy is doing a good thing here...
