Smile New to the Gt world. Performance Questions.

Hi, I just recently bought a 2005 Pt Gt, Auto with auto stick. I want to make it a sleeper. Ive read a lot about stage 1 setups making a big difference but I want to know what mods I can do to make a massive difference. I want it to go fast and be a really quick car. I work on cars myself and have my own shop so I can work on it anytime and I'm not worried about maintenance. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks

Go with the diablosport Predator or the intune tuner. It makes a huge difference. Check out their web site or just google it and you'll see what people are saying about it. You won't regret it at all.

Cool Re: New to the Gt world. Performance Questions.

Dittos on the diablo

The predator is no longer made, there is the intune or trinity

Goo luck with the modding, I've done just the basics and can tell a difference. Weight is the enemy though on these

You will still need the stage 1 four the auto stick shift points. As well the tuners.

with autostick why would you need to adjust shift points? I don't have a stage 1 and I love my DSP.
You can still get the predator used, Just have to make sure its unmarried.

Sleeper=N20

The stag one changes the shift pressure in the automatic needed for firmer and quicker shifts.

Its really hard to make it a sleeper on the current engine platform without some expensive and major changes.
Look into SRT-4 performance builds.
Don't forget about a transmission rebuild and upgrade.

Yea I figured without major upgrades it would be hard to make into a sleeper. I bought it with a broken timing chain. It bent all the valves and such so I will have to replace all of those. Just figured while I had it apart that I would just add in some mods. What mods would it take to get around 360 horses in the pt gt.

there are lots but (like the problem I have) you have an automatic really not much we can do without blowing that up. I took off my muffler, did the airbox mod and the DSP and I am pretty happy. I think that I'm maybe around 260hp. I still want to do the plastic intake and stage 2 injectors but that will prob. be it. Good luck with your mods.

Thanks Im thinking of pulling the transmission and building it up to make it stronger. Either way Im thinking of stage 1 maybe upgraded turbo and intercooler and the air box. Then will probably throw some wheels and tires on it and call it a day.
