Default ATF Fluid change

Here's the thing.. I have an '03 autostick where the atf has never been done.
It shifts nicely and the fluid is clean as can be.
with close to 100,000 miles, anyone really believe I need to worry ?
I've read where often changing it just creates problems.
On another note, I have a '10 Mazda 3 autostick where there's no ( yes,NO ) indication of when to change.. the fluid turned grey and I changed it at 50,000 miles just to appease the dealer who was getting all henky about voiding the warranty.
I still say if it aint broke, dont fix it.
'03 GT Blue/ autostick.. 160,000KM ( That's 100,000miles for y'all South of the border ) All the options, the heated leather is a must up here in Canada, Love the solid heavy duty feel and obvious Torque.. The Turbo is strong, fast and reliable.. People that don't understand the love of a PT, probably don't deserve to.

Tough to say, my concern would be the filter gets clogged because you never changed it.

I would change it and put the Dorman pan on, has a drain plug.

If your not in a hurry, drop the pan and pull the filter and let it drain for a day, more will come out.

Then replace the filter, refill it and drive it for a few days, then drain it and refill.

im sure there is a great debate over this im not sure at 100,000 what id do i try to change mine at 40-50,000 but id probaly do the drop and fill that way you still get a lot of fresh fluid and you dont disturb everything if that makes any sence

I bought the Dorman pan a few weeks ago, along with a new filter but haven't put them on yet. Mine is at about 120k!

Plug is great because apparently you're supposed to change fluid (or at least refresh) every 50k something miles anyway, along with filter changes.... If nothing else the plug will allow you to drain the fluid before you remove the pan.
White '03 GT. Mine since 2010. DIY work (read, budget): DIY cabin air filter, ball joint/control arm bushings/wheel bearing replacement, CV axle replacement, brakes, struts, K&N drop-in filter, oil pressure sensor replacement, Spark plug gasket replacement.

"But I don't want to go among mad people! Alice remarked. Oh you can't help that, said the cat, We're all mad here. You're mad, I'm mad. How do you know I'm mad? asked Alice. You have to be, or you wouldn't have come here, replied the cat."
