I was reading a thread on the SRT Forum about a place that sells a 3" exhaust system that goes from the down-pipe (O2 Housing)back, deletes the Cat, and has a 16" bullet muffler built-in.It's aluminized steel and is painted. It's super lightweight and an easy bolt-on and he sells them for $350.He can add a high-flow Cat, larger muffler, etc at additional cost. This exhaust is a single pipe that dumps at a 45 degree angle in front of the rear axle. It's not for everyone, and it's not quiet, but it's for the racer on a budget that wants a quality piece.I talked to him on the phone and he is interested in seeing if people with PT Turbos are interested in it.He's in the Fort Worth area and if there's interest, he would be looking for someone to do a test-fit on.
If anyone is in the Ft. Worth area and would like to talk to him about doing a test-fit, then check out his web site at www.bdjsracing.com and give him a call. The guy's name is Brian and the guys on the SRT forum love what he is selling. |

Did you talk to Brian? Should I just mention your name (what is it?), or your car so he'll remember you? anywho, thanks for the help.

This is similar to the side-exit system i built for myself. Except mine is currently cat-back with 6 inch resonator tip. It's loud, it snaps/crackles/pops, etc ! The tip gets wickedly hot, and people seem to want to touch it all the time.
I'm now in the process of replacing the resonator tip with a really sharp looking polished intercooled tip (no resonator), and using a 12" resonator ("bullet") off the cat, all stainless pipe (currently I only use 2.25 aluminized). My original idea was to use a super-trapp, and I might still try that as well. I could make a jig and crank out several if people are interested. We'd all have to come to a consensus in diameter, downpipe back vs cat back, polished or not, etc. Let me know, as I was originaly planning on starting on it the weekend after next.
