Tommy, when are you going to take it to the track and get some Qtr. mile runs. You are running Stage 1 (235 HP) and if what you say is true the addition of 30 HP would equate to a 13.85-13.95 ET.
Also what were the outdoor temperatures when you made your runs/tests? Since our cars are speed density controlled the maps will adjust for higher/cooler air temps. You WILL make more boost in the summer or on warm/hot days than you will on cool days since the computer is trying to keep the boost (HP) in design limits. I have made no recent changes to my Turbo and mine also boosted higher last summer than it does now...and I expect it to do so again on any given hot day. If you indeed can run high 13's or even 14.0's you can count me in for buying his setup. Deen

I'd agree with Ian,
Piping air through a small tube requires a lot more work than through a wider tube. Less resistence, increased flow. Plus I'm sure there's a thermodynamic issue with the air charge coming from the intercooler into a wider cooler tube to the TB. Even if the PCM corrects, it will still run more optimally from the standpoint that it is a more efficient system. Looks awesome in the blue, tommy. Show car stuff, replacing the ugly ribbed OEM charge tube. My boost gauge, I can hit 12-13 WOT at this time of year, although that is about as high as I have gotten. Whether I need a 15-16 spike, but less work=less strain on turbo=longer life=less money=happiness.

The pipes will prevent spike over rubber, but if there is an increase in hp it will come from the intake and there is no intake that will make 30 hp. the non expanding will cause th hp to go up because the boost goes to the enging instead of blowing up the hosses like a balloon, any intake will help, some more than others. The metel pipes don't flex so you will not get the flex as you do with the stock hoses= up in boost =up in hp. The new pipes look small what size are they. How much are they?

They are 2.5".
No restrictions unlike the stock intake. I haven't taken apart my charge pipe, but somehow I doubt interior diameter is very broad. As a thought, there would not be an adverse issue putting in hard pipes? I can't imagine there would be.

I am going to say a couple things but I dont want to get into a huge discussion about weather or not people think whatever..
The metal UCP does make it so your boost levels are more consistent because of the lack of flex in the silicone stock pipe. The stock UCP bends dramatically at the bottom where bends around the battery.. The way I made the UCP is gets rid of that harsh bend.. Look from under your car or reach and feel it. I realize that a lot of people do have different brand intakes so I made "8" Just UCP with no BOV.. I sold 5 of them.. two in candy red and 3 in candy blue (As soon as the powdercoater runs those two colors.) One was using a HKS BOV, one using a Greddy BOV so I will have a couple more pics to show you soon.. I do not know how my UCP will react with other intakes.. Basically all open air filter intakes are made the same.. As straight of a pipe as you can make with an open air filter.. Debates on filters in the stock air box.. I dont know..But I guess we will all see when these people receive there pipes.. I realize that this product is new and people are skeptical I would be if someone posted something like this.. Lets just wait and see what happens when more and more people get this product and let it speak for it self.. Mike is helping me make my web site. It will be up in a few weeks with a page on instructions for the install with pictures, other cool stuff.. Prototypepower.com Thank you ADAM ProtoTypePower |

Using a metal charge pipe works with other blown applications, I think this is a major contibution to our cause. Hope to get one.

Adam,
How much for just the UCP (no BOV flange) in candy blue? Thanks, Scott
