This should let us know that "after the turbo" additions like the 3" cat and down pipe (MEX), and cat back exhaust, will have some effect.

I can only state what I've expirienced, the BTG (probably not the best one out there) gave me no gaind at all, but the 3" DP and exhaust really made a difference.

I would recommend getting a 3" DP before a CAI, just look at 3Bar's ride, the only mods are Stage I and 2.25" racepipe.

I also have an AMX intake and think it is great. I want to install a MBC but have been leary because of all the posts stating that they get a lot of engine codes. What brand of controller do you have? Also how do you have it hooked up? I would appreciate any tips.

Thanks,
Ronski

I have been reading the forum for a few weeks now, and now I have joined, because the things you say are not true, I have had an intake on my GT for over a year and I have never gone back to the boost from before I put it on. my boost with a boost controller is 17 all the time 1/2 throttle or wot it still reads 16, I have about 70 runs at the local drag strip and before the intake 15.80s at 84mph 12 runs then the intake 15.40 at 87 ten runs, now add the boost controller set at 17 and I have over 40 runs 14.65 at 95mph and it has never gone back to stock. and I don't get an engine code either.

the name of my boost controller is CORE it is a manal. It is in line with the wast gate, maybe this will help wastegate-----boostcontroller-----back to wastgate. intake manifold---gauge

remove the orange plastic hose from the top of the wastegate and put a new hose, connect the BC to the end of that new hose, now from the BC run another new hose back to the orange hose. now you got it.

don't worry about the codes - they just tell you what you already know - you are boosting well more then the stock set-up. They're just an annoyance. Some people think otherwise, but I have never had any problems related from a "part throttle overboost" code - I already know I'm boosting higher then stock.

Now, there's a different and more troublesome issue with part-throttle boost - you're engine will be running very lean until you go WOT. So you'd want to set it up with a throttle activated switch so it only boosts over stock when you go WOT.

The PCM won't get in your way if you take control of the boost.. The SRT crowd is getting 400 and 500 whp out these motors (with upgraded turbos). You will need to use a "MAP clamp" if you go over 18psi though..

Those codes will do you in if you take your car into the dealer when it breaks down....they'll ask why you have all those overboost codes in your computer...and they will know precisely why they are there.

crazyjoe, I had my engine lite come on 27 times most of the time I would disconnect the batt. to reset it . I took it in for the computer upgrade and was ask did you have an ing lite my answer was no, they put the code inforcer computer on my car first and said "you have not had codes ,why do you want a new computer after I said I had a miss at 5000 rpm they ordered the new one ,,the point is that the overboost code is not recorded. so boost all you want.
