Default GT Performance

I have a 2005 GT High Output Turbo and have had it clocked by a friend at the Montana Highway patrol at 138.6 MPH. This 5 speed got there in about 1/2 mile...Do I have an SRT-4 under the hood?

Hmm there is a couple reasons why this may not be so.

But that's ok you can claim it.

Tell him to take it off "out of state driver" mode.
I don't think you were going that fast - the PT has the aerodynamics of a shoe box.

There are factory set RPM and MPH limiters. Unless you go into the **PCM and enter new calibrations they can not be bypassed on a stock PT Cruiser.

If you are going downhill and hit the MPH limit you could technical roll simply by velocity and gravity passed it and get a higher MPH clocked reading

how high did you personally see the speedometer go? what gear were you in?

i'm only asking because i would go 140 in a lincoln mark 8. they are governed to 130, but for some reason with O/D off they aren't governed. if you stayed out of 5th, it might be possible.

this is why people doubt you:

You have the same motor as a SRT-4 Neon. No governors on a SRT-4 though.
