The cheapest I have seen (I have this mod in mine).

Exhaust Depot spring mod.

I bought the Specter, chromed carburator return spring set. (Got it at P#p B@ys for $5.00). I use the thin one. I get 12PSI in first, 15 PSI droping down to 14 in second, 16PSI droping down to 15 in third, 16 Constant in fourth untill the PCM opens the wastegate and BOV when I reach 128[?]

It will take you less than five minutes to install it if you use a needle nose plier. one side goes to the wastegate actuator rod in the bend, the other side hooks perfectly in an empty hole in the side of the engine head next to the airbox. I will take a picture and post it.

You can use the wider spring, but I never got the courage to test it

Ian - Any other mods on your car such as Stage I, etc. ?

There are a few mods under the hood:

K&N filter
3" intake tube with modded airbox
MOPAR BOV Conversion
Oil Catch can
An X Type Boost controller
BTG Exhaust
Stage 1
Boost gauge
and the spring mod
The rest is still secret untill fully tested.

What is the purpose of the 3 inch intake tube? This is a turbo car. 12 pounds at the head is 12 pounds at the head. Whether the turbo pulls it through 2" or 3" makes not a lick of difference.

Now, if this was a naturally aspirated intake, that would be different.

JoePro,

Even on a turbo vehicle, restrictions in the intake plumbing can affect the time to get up to the boost level you are shooting for. Yeah, 12lbs is 12lbs but with restrictions on the intake side of the turbo, it will take longer to get the air stuffed in up to the 12lbs boost pressure. Throttle response can improve by eliminating the restrictions.

First, we have a first post that asks about adjusting a wastegate (kind of basic) and gives boost and EGT numbers (more complex).
Then we get joepro again. [XX(]

Ain't that funny...

"Joepro" talking about my 3" intake tube... ain't the factory one about 1 1/2" ID???
If you increase boost, you need to let the turbo breath better... try to pull air thru a straw and then thru a piece of garden hose the same length... mutch better right???

What mods have you done to your car??? Other than using 97 Octane fuel?

I guess you will have to teach all the profesional turbo racer that they should install small intake tracts to their turbos and use 97 Octane fuel for better performance...

Why not get a AGP wga and not ghetto mod the OEM wga with a spring? The Mopar bov is ok if you are not going to run at higher boost. The Forge bov is adjustable with different springs for different stages of boost. The HKS SSQV is the best bov you can get so it is more expensive. You can adjust for when you want it to go off.
