Default Wideband Install and downpipe

I am in the process of installing a wideband, and the instructions (AEM) indicate that with a turbo the sensor must be mounted at least 36 inches downstream. It should also be before the cat. How do you solve this issue? I have also been looking at a 3" turbo outlet and a 3" downpipe with a hi-flow cat with the add'l bung, and with a 2.25" outlet into the mopar catback (I believe I will need the same outlet as the stock cat, even though the mid pipe is 2.5"O.D. it is 2.25" I.D. at the connection). BTW if there is no gain in investing in the 3" cat and outlet hooked up to the mopar catback, I will just use the factory cat and have a bung added.

You add a bung between your 02 housing and your CAT for your wideband. Save yourself time and get that aftermarket 2.5 or 3'' downpipe before you install a bung on your stock downpipe.

Truth.

From Scott @ Maxxfab himself. (OG SRT-4 exhaust guy)

With the stock turbo, there will be no difference between the 2.5 and 3 inch.....especially at under 300 hp. The 2.5 inch will also be a bit more quiet.

It's not till you start making over 320 ish does 3 inch start to show gains...and the gains are small at that level. The gains get bigger the more hp you make.

Also, putting a muffler at the back of the exhaust gives more sound supression (both at the tip and in the car) than putting it in the mid pipe.

Aftermarket stainless downpipes are very cheap on eBay and people have good luck with them for the most part. The flexpipes seem to be an issue later on with them though.

Not sure what kind of emissions you have in IL. But out here in KS we do not have any. My after CAT 02 is just hanging underneath my car since I do not have a CAT.
