Hello all,
I am looking into getting a exhaust system. But I am not sure what brand, spec's, etc.. I have a 02' Automatic. So far I have installed Powerslot Rotors, Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs. I am looking at doing a Stage 1 Hahn system. If I went with a 3inch exhaust system would that be bad since I do not have a manual transmission, plus I don't have the Hahn system yet? Thanks, Donny |

No using a 3" system will not do anything bad or take any HP away from you.. On turbo cars you dont need the backpresure like you do on Naturaly asperated cars ..

Don't think auto vs stick matters, but are you going to replace the cat converter, too? If not, going to 3" will mean a bottleneck at the converter. The stock size is either 2.25" or 2.5" (I forget). I don't think 3" will hurt, just question whether it'll help.
I assume you're doing a header when to add turbo.

I want to get a new exhaust system, just a good one until I get a turbo installed. One that wouldn't need to get upgraded because of that. What exhaust system would be best until then, and what would I need to change out after turbo is installed? You mentioned a header change, and cat converter (if going 3"). If I get a 2 1/4 exhaust system and want to change to a 3" system what needs to be changed there for the exhaust? Thanks! Don |

Is a single exhaust system give you more performance than a dual exhaust system BTW?
I like the retro rollpan from pttuning, with duals.. IF single is better performance I would go single. Thanks, Donny |

I think most would agree that the dual system on a 4 cylinder engine is more for looks than performance.
Thats not to say an aftermarket duel system would not give you more benefit than the stock single, it will, however you could get almost the same benefit from an aftermarket single exhaust for much less $$. I am no expert and only go on what I have pulled from this and other forums.

I recently visited www.ajusa.com and they have a 2.5 cat/back Borla exhaust system. Looked pretty nice. Anybody know where to find a fitted or universal high flow cat. converter??
Thanks, Donny |
