Default Intermittent Oil Light

Hi there.

I'm driving my mom's 03 GT on a little road trip.

I drove it to Reno yesterday with no problems. This morning in Reno when I started it, the oil light was on. I checked the oil and it was full.

So I checked the manual, thinking it might be a scheduled service
alert, apparently it doesn't have one.

I restarted it and the oil light went out.

I proceeded on my trip with no problems until I got to San Rafael. After checking in at the motel I restarted the Cruiser and the light was on again. I went to run an errand and the light is still on.

Is this a common issue?

Any ideas for someone on the road?

I'm seeing no other apparent problems.

Sort-of common but there are a lot of us that never had the light or a problem with the oil pressure sensor. Doesn't take much to replace it.

Thanks for reminding me.

I replaced that sensor for mom about a year ago. Now it needs a new one again?!

I replaced mine this past spring as it was leaking and coming on whenever the car dropped to idle. Within a couple weeks, I began having the issue you describe here. It does it a few times in a couple days, and then not again for several weeks. I understand that sometimes the replacements can be crappy.
