Cool Night cover for Aeroforce Gauge

I had mention in the "Cowboy Cruiser" mods thread that of the 3 pilar gauges, the top Aeroforce Gauge was distractingly bright at night while driving distances.

So, after looking around a while for possible caps; I bought a 2 inch PVC pipe cap; cut it off after measuring the protruding distance of the gauge; and cut a hole in the end, leaving the curved portion intact.
Then I painted it dark gray to match the pilar, and tried cutting tinted plastic circles to fit in the back - held from popping out by the curvature left at the viewing end.

It took two layers of the green plastic to tone down the brightness to my satisfaction.
I cut a small strip of thin foam insulation, and adhesed it to the bottom half of the inside of the tube, in oder to make it snug enough to not pop off.
I will keep this in the center cubby hole for night driving.

You could also just install an on/off power switch to gauge(s) or (elimination) for the other 2 also?

That's what I often do.

What about a lower wattage bulb or remove the bulb entirely...

I believe the Aeroforce is a mufti-function digital gauge.

I guess the display must be very bright.

PS: Last night I actually had a dream in which I bought an Autometer D-PIC acceleration gauge.
