Default I am new to cars. I have some dumb questions :)

I was thinking about getting a a 3 inch down pipe to left some pressure off the engine when i am boosting. Or to help improve the performance of my car. I have a 03. And is there any thing else i can do to help improve the performace of my turbo in my car. Or any thing else i can do to just improve the over all performace of my car. (things under 300$)

you asked a question and IMO rudely reject an answer?

Hmm..... ok well here is one for you. Why install a 3" down pipe on a PT Cruiser Turbo exhaust manifold without porting it and modify the goose neck first?

Answer= primary reason, your budget is to low.

Pictured below is a better improved exhaust from the head down to considering the remainder of the exhaust.

Try x2 with your budget restrictions.

Good luck with your quest, I will let others suggest things at this point!

While NitroPT is the true expert here, he's bragging a little bit in his suggestions.

The 2003 GT has small injectors than the later GT's. Just adding the injectors from a 2004 or 2005 turbo PT and a Stage 1 ECM will gain you quite a bit. Many here have done that. You can get a Stage 1 from FWD Performance for $299. And you can pick up injectors at a salvage yard. The ones from the 2004/2005 turbo lite will work just the same or you can likely find a set on eBay. Should be around $100 or less for the set.

If you are willing to spend more, you could skip the Stage 1 and go for a DiabloSport Trinity tuner for about $600. The DS Intune is about $400. Either of these will allow you to run custom tunes and make adjustments yourself. And of course, there's loads more that NitroPT can tell you about depending on where you want to go. But the Stage 1 and injectors will make a huge difference for not too much buck.
