First, you probably need to tell us your goals unless you want this thread to end up in a fight.

There's exhaust designed to look cool and create a nice sound. And then there's exhaust designed for performance. And the performance exhaust is often just a straight pipe coming off the catalytic converter or the down pipe if the cat has been deleted. Plus, there some exhaust that is kind of a hybrid between these two. I think Magnaflow makes some like that.

So let us know what you really want from your exhaust.

Because you said PERFORMANCE muffler you will need to contact muffler manufactures direct and ask specifically for the CFM rate of their mufflers. They need to be at least 350CFM for a single unit. Don't be surprised if they don't know or not willy to give this information out. IMO PASS on any that will not give you the information.
Next talk to your local muffler shop (performance muffler shops are better)to see if you can try what you find for minimum CFM ratings if they stock them to determine the sound your prefer.
That is how is is basically done.
You will find a lot of global forum information which is about 98% inaccurate about mufflers.

If you want to get onto the complete exhaust system that is another whole subject.

Just cut the pipe after the cat. See how you like it and how it sounds. That's what I did to mine. Or cut before the cat and go straight pipe back. It causes alot of restriction and when removed responds better. My dc2 has the srt stock exhaust but thinking of removing. Just don't know yet. I liked the way it sounded cut off after the cat. You could hear the turbo spool really good and imo sounded good to me. really no point in buying a exhaust for the turbo because the best one is none

Reviving an old thread but I *think* the Mopar Performance cat back exhaust is still available for the PTs. A Neon SRT exhaust will also fit with a bit of modification but the Neon exhaust is resonator only, no muffler.

If you want the Mopar Performance part number I can dig it up for you.

Offering a retail systems probably not a true 2.5 system, making one sure. Go talk to a Performance Muffler Shop specializing in Performance exhaust systems.

Mandrel Exhaust Systems makes one in your choice of 2.25, 2.5 or 3" as well as mild or stainless steel.

I believe Magnaflow still has a 2.25 system and a 2.5 system as well.
