Check this out. It was on the SRT 4 forums. It's a reason why Stage 2 folks aren't getting the hp and torque #'s. Makes sense since our car's computer and sensors are so smart now. It's very interesting info.

Good article! Dinan has also said it is basically useless to try to tune most OBDII N/A* engines due to the sophistication of the engine management, same/similar to our next generation controllers. These engines are producing the maximum output they are capable of, variable cam timing also plays a significant roll in the output, something our cruisers do not have. Fortunately this is for the N/A engine and our turbo gives us the ability to tune for more power output. This is one reason that the SII kit is going to be important because of the 3bar tip and map sensors along with the crucial programming.
Dinan are masters at reprogramming the ecu, however, the next generation controller is extremely hard to crack. The codes seem to have codes and is posing a huge challenge for Dinan. They really are not focusing on the the stock chip up grade but they need to reprogram the ecu to be able to supercharge the BMW engine that they are famous for. Dinan chips are also 50 state legal so don't tell me it is too expensive to get CARB certification, it is not and DCX has everything at their disposal; unlike companies such as Dinan! Don't look for many aftermarker performance chip companies to spend the money to produce a chip for our GT turbo's. The piggy back controllers are bandaids and usually only work under WOT conditions so everyday drivability is/can/will be a problem
