Default found my boost leak! its on the oil return line of the turbo. is this normal?

hello everyone. I have had a big boost leak that I've been trying to find and couldn't find for almost a month now. i have a boost leak tester and used the soapy water method. it would only hold up to 15 psi under the boost leak test and then fall to zero within 10 -15 seconds and i could hear a loud hissing noise which was near the turbo. i finally located the leak and its coming from the oil return line where it mounts to the turbo. a bunch of air is leaking out of there. does anyone know what this could mean? is there supposed to be boost pressure in there? my car has a diablo tune and only hits 9-10 psi of boost and holds 5 psi to redline.

I would say no it shouldn't. Sounds like you need to rebuild it. Maybe some others have some insight on this.

Just so I understand what you are doing, confirm that you are capping the air inlet side of your compressor cover and applying a boost charge between the compressor outlet and throttle body? You have determined there is an air leak at the oil return flange?

When you reply please email me at chris@turbosunleashed.com because I am not on this forum regularly.

Thanks!
