Default New to PT GT

Hello,

My SO and I just purchased a 2005 PT Cruiser GT ATX a few days ago and I had a few questions about performance upgrades.

I'm pretty sure the GT recirculates wasted boost, does the Mopar BOV Plate make it vent to atmosphere?

What are the benefits of getting the Syked Stage 1 ECU?

What would be a good BOV to install? I've seen the TurboXs SML Hybrid, which looks like a good upgrade over the stock BOV.

Are there guides on how to install a boost gauge? It feels odd going into boost without knowing how much boost it's pushing. Plus it'll help from a maintenance standpoint.

Is there a cheap hydraulic hood prop rod set? My '07 Charger RT set was about $25. While it looks like the PT Cruiser one is >$100.

Thanks!

BTW:

Loving the stock exhuast.
Teekypt likes this.

Thanks!

I've noticed the PT Cruiser community and Dodge Neon community are very passionate about there vehicles!

I currently own:
2007 Dodge Challenger Pursuit R/T
1995 Dodge Dakota Single Cab, Short Bed V8 Sport
Two 1989 Dodge Daytona ES, Auto, N/A

and now a GT Cruiser!

Love me some Mopar.

YES!

YES!slightly improved calibration over a MOPAR STAGE 1

These are preference for sound as they do nothing for performance in anyway.

Either tap into the intake directly for a stand alone fitting (better way) or use an existing direct intake hose to splice into.

Yeah. It adds a real bite to the exhaust.

Thanks for the answers! I know the BOV does nothing other than add sound, but I've seen that aftermarket one has a better seal system.

I prefer 12 inch big dogs (woofers) myself

What does the Mopar Stage 1 do over the stock tune and what does the Syked one do over the Mopar?

I know it increases boost, what else does it do? Looks like a cheap way to add some power and (maybe economy?) I've heard it's boosted the car in almost every way.

BOTH
calibration adjustments to timing and fuel table calibration tables and re-calibrates shift modulations.
Syked have more specific calibration adjustments from historical experienced information available over MOPAR PT Cruiser STAGE 1 PCM which last update before the discontinued program around 2007ish?

I know it increases boost, what else does it do? Looks like a cheap way to add some power and (maybe economy?) I've heard it's boosted the car in almost every way. Actual resent data logged information from a Chrysler PCM access device used by Chrysler engineers shows less then what generally was reported over the years about the STAGE 1 PCM for PT Cruisers.
Your best bet is to reach out and contact Syked for his information rather then member posted information about his products and services offered. This way you will get accurate information instead of opinions?
Syked Ecu Tuning | Dodge Tuning Software

The smart way is to build power normally aspirated first and then add cylinder pressure. This way you build reliable and safe power levels.

Adding Perfromance PT CRUISER parts

Economy and Performance (engine power output) seldom go together and are difficult to marry together happily.
