Well, upon recent discovery that an exhaust adds 0 hp b/c of our PCM ...I asked for a refund and it was promptly given back to me.

Maxxfab=The win

If we can ever work around the stupid computer, I will definetly buy my DP from him.

Again the "PCM" strikes back...

Here are the things we need to control for all the mods to be efective including exhaust:

1. Ignition timing and retard
2. Fuel flow control
3. Boost setting

if we can control all three and fool the computer in thinking it is within parameters, all the Hardware mods will bump HP to amazing levels. Untill then, we are stuck with little options.

Ian

BTW. I am not just griping, it is the sad truth on our cars, I am working on it as we write with my Ricer tuner friends... How long it will take?? I don't know yet. This is the reason I have stoped posting mods. If they don't yeald HP in the long run, they are no good.

Did you read the SRT-4 mod Dyno on Last month Turbo magazine. They spent over a thousand dollars modding the Intake, exhaust and a Profec B boost controller. They got a little more than with stage one and five minutes...

Typo...

And I am sure they won't fix it in a future magazine.

Personally, I believe we would see at least a 10hp and 10 to 15 tq gain. Our exhaust is not the same as the SRT-4.
You can fool the pcm with a mbc or ebc and a dual stage set up bypassing the control of the waste gate under wot. This engine runs extremely fat under wot conditions and the the pcm is not going to pull timing until it senses detonation. You only really need full boost under wot so this is not going to effect part throttle drivability. Several of srt-4 guys have already proved this set up.
I am really hoping for SII to come out as it will include the pcm programming and 3bar sensors we need to make this set up really work!
Yes, eventually your going to run out of fuel. However, how much boost do you really think your going to run on a consistent basis and have any sort of engine/drive train longevity and reliability? If your going to race this car then you can ditch all of the computer control and run the crap out of this thing until you blow it up, who cares about drivability and reliability!
SI,DSMBC, airbox to turbo pipe, UPP pipe and a 3" CAT/DP w/2 1/2' straight through exhaust is going to make this car extremely fast and fun to drive! SII will make it Awesome!

We are talking about a PT cruiser here, right?
Sakigt, I really think your exhaust would've improved the overall performace of your cruiser!

Just my 2 cents,
