Airbillster,
Make sure he is talking about the same thing,,,,,, is he spraying the nitrous on the outside of the intercooler or the inside,,,,, you statement about 80% of a wet system makes me think he is spraying into the IC not over the outside. It is a huge difference. If he is spraying INTO the IC that statement makes alittle more sense. I used to use nitrous on my sanddrag Jeep so I am not talking from "what I have read". and used to be rules and sanctioning for the raceing org.
A cooler IC will be much more efficent,,, but I don't see it providing 80more hp, I may be wrong, but make sure if he is spraying INTO or OVER the OUTSIDE.
Tom

The IC sprayer on the outside has gotten diferent resoults in diferent cars... I saw my friends supra with it and increased HP greatly but then I saw it in another friend Talon and the power increase was minimal. I think it has to do with the IC eficiency already in place. If the IC is at a 75% efficiency rate, the IC sprayer would be notable. This means that the temp drop will be better. If you have an IC with a low efficiency then less air will be cooled down thus making less HP.

Got the bottle, 6' braided hose and the coil, I made.

It's 6" x 18" the outer sprays inward at an angle and the middle sprays up and down. it's a perfect fit in front of the intercooler!

Bill,

I like your D-I-Y idea. May I make a suggestion?

I would make your coil out of stainless steel, rather than copper. Copper will corrode pretty quickly. The copper oxide and copper chloride that will form will plug off the holes you created in the coil.

My 2 cents,

Scott

Thanks, I didn't realise, would the copper corrode quickley or just over time? The only problem I think stainless would be is drilling the tiny holes. Do you think Aluminum would be better?

Bill,

I think aluminium may be just as bad. Aluminum oxide may plug off the holes or at least make them smaller. If you have ever seen aluminum corrode, you know exactly what I am talking about.

How about a carbide-tipped drill bit? That should take care of the holes in the stainless steel tubing.

Besides, you won't have to polish that thing all the time if it were copper or aluminum

Well guys, it's in and WOW!!! What a dif! I kept the copper, with over 600 lbs. of pressure and only being used to race, there's no way it will corrode or stop up. The power from a stop is seat grabbin! I tried it out on a local airport road in my area, I powerbraked, hit the switch and MAN, AWSOME!!! I also tried it out on I-66 at 50mph hit the switch and nailed it. It felt like a cushioned quick climb in 3 seconds I was over the 100mph mark, scared the hell out of me so I backed off of it before any ecounters with johnny law! I'm going to try to get to the strip soon and get some numbers! I'll be at "wild Thang" oct. 1-3rd and Myrtle beach the 22nd-24th
Mounted it to the inside of the lower grill
Ran the tubing straight back and comes up in the access holes for the rear bumper screws, VERY easy install!!

Let's see, Copper tubing home depot- freezer icemaker kit 11.99, 10lb bottle, full $100- Ebay, selenoid and switch $90- Ebay and braided hose to selenoid and pressure gauge $60- Ebay Total $261.99 It took about a month of shoppin but it was worth the savings. I love Ebay!
I think the trick is to mount the sprayer approx. 2" in front of the intercooler, it gives the NOS a wider spray area.
