Just disconnect the negative (ground) terminal.
Thanks for the quick reply! [^]

So it's normal ~not~ to lose your radio's presets, then?

Right....

...As long as you don't step on the brake pedal while the battery is disconnected. Doing that will reset all.

Whoah! Now that's intriguing! Thanks for the heads-up. I never did hit the brake pedal, so that must have been why I was able to keep everything.

Thanks for that little tidbit! [?]

Does it reset the mileage too? []

BTW, if I put stage 1 pcm, is it possible for a dealer to determine if it's stage 1 or stock without looking at the lables? Is it visible when reading error codes or some other way?

Mojito, it only resets the trip odomoiter not the total mileage. I put on the green wheel disconnect that maakes the reset easy. When I installed the AirForce One intake it said to disconnect the negative terminal and turn on the headlights for one minute. Then turn the lights off and reconnect. I notice more responsive shifts and starts after I do it. [8)]

If you remove the 4 rainbow inspired pieces that attach to the PCM you can reset only the PCM, not the entire car. ie) radio and stereo settings wont be affected

Thanks SakiGT,

But now that you've thrown THIS into the mix!...

Once you disconnect the pieces you've described, does it result in an instant PCM reset, or do you still need to leave it disconnected for a set amount of time? [:I]

Oh, and BTW - I LOVE this place! [?]

SakiGT, how did you know that? CarolinaBlue, be careful in disconnecting the 'Raindow inspired' connectors to the PCM. When I installed my S I the part that took the longest was getting the connectors off after I moved the red locks. It could have been that it was the first time they had been off but it took a while to figure out the pull out and down required. Somehow I broke one of the locks when I replaced it so now I just use the battery reset switch. [?]

Does this resetting apply to auto transmissions only or does the 5-speed get the same benifits? I have done it on my 01 but not my GT 5-speed yet...[:I]
