I am about to order the booger bushings to go with the Hurst shifter. But I have to tell them if the bushings on the transmission are the same size or if one is a different size to get the right. Can anyone that has installed them on the GT tell me what the sizes are so I don't have to tear the airfilter etc. out take a look at them. Thanks. CJJ
When you order just tell 'em in the comment box that you're installing them on a PT/GT. You get 4 bushings in total. 1 small one and 1 large one for the under hood cable ends and 2 small ones for the interior cable ends at the shifter itself. I sent him an e-mail about how ya have to alter one of the small bushings for the interior connections. It's not that you need any larger ones. The standard kit for the manual PT's still works you just have to take out that interior lip on the one you put the bolt through.

Beacon--would you happen to have any pictures of how the booger bushings look at both locations on a PT GT? If not, does anybody else?

Here ya go, I had the same question so thank FlashBK2 for the pics - added some text to help with orientation.

You can see the two in the engine bay after you remove the airbox, you may be able to get at them then if your hands are small enough but most folks may find them easier to work on by removing the battery and battery tray assembly.

And here's one of the bushings under the center console.

Beacon--thank you for the pictures. I might give it a try but I want to be sure there is a noticeable improvement. I'm quite pleased already with only the Hurst shifter upgrade.

Thanks for the information and pictures Beacon. They were very helpful. As soon as the hard pipe from Adam comes I'll put it, the shifter, and the bushings in. Hopefully this weekend.

I know that the hurst shifter raises the shifter mount, and noticed that that trying to refit the shifter brackets doesn't seem go back the way it should. It seems to be alittle in the retaier clip notch area. Is this normal or should I try and re-adjust the shifter brackets so that they clear the retainer notch area?

At this point I haven't put back the interior and retainer clips. I took a test run and the shifts seem alot better. The 1st to 2nd travel is shorter. The 4th to 5th travel is ALOT shorter. The reverse imo feels about the same.
