Default 03 pt cruiser 2.4L turbo rough surging idle

Hello I just had to do a head swap for my 2.4L turbocharged pt cruiser. New head with valves and springs, replaced oil pump, water pump, plugs and wires, coil pack and timing belt. Car say sat for a few months because the head got warped due to high temperature cause oil pump went out. Now that I have it running it has a surging idle that I can't figure out. All vacuum lines seem to be fine no cracks or wear. When I take the vacuum line off the brake booster the vacuum just surges instead of a steady sucking. Has anybody ran into this problem or might now of which route I should take now?

This is just the engine controller trying to adjust the idle air control valve to reach target idle but they'res a vacuum leak somewhere causing this problem. Very likely to be caused during the assembly and maintenance process. See about pressurizing the intake manifold and spraying a soap/water leak detector around any metal-to-gasket surfaces

i would recommend you unhook the electrical connector to the IAC and see if you can spot the leak and do vacuum diagnostics with it unplugged/not surging. i don't know that this is a proper way to do things, but it's usually helpful to me

Would a leak between intake/exhaust in the head cause these symptoms?

I'm also interested in the selinoids on the passenger side above the shock tower I can't find any information on them all I know is they feed the throttle body turbo and hook up to the brake booster.
