Default Turbo Hoses

Hello All, short story is I have 2005 DC4 with a turbo. I have had the car for about 5 months and have been switching out old parts etc. there is a hose that is coming out of the top of the turbo that is very hot. The previous owner had a piece of fuel line hose there. It was craxkedbat both ends and very brittle. I had a piece of the Sam size fuel line and just replaced it. I filled my tank and drove to LA about 30 miles each way. The first day I could see a difference in fuel efficiency, thought things were fine. The second day I traveled the same route and used more than 1/2 of a tank. Obviously there should be some other type of hose there. Can I only get it at a dealer?
