Default Turbo bolt torque question....

Hey everyone! In the middle of head gasket/timing belt replacement on a 2007 turbo & the book is pretty vague on the oil return bolt torque. If I am reading it correctly, the torque on the two bolts for the oil return on the bottom of the turbo is 30ft lbs. Is this correct?? Seems kind of high for those two little bolts...

Thanks in advance!!! MrT

My manual is for an 05 so this might not apply to your 07 but it calls for 105 inch pounds on the oil return bolts.

Thanks! That sounds a LOT more believable than 30 ft lbs. Better to go low & see if it leaks than to break them off!! I can always tighten them a little more....

With a good gasket. It shouldn't leak. I pretty sure those bolts won't take 30ft pounds. Most all torque specks are inch pounds on these. Module year will not make any difference for torque specs.

Exactly my thinking!!! I wasn't about to torque them to 30ft lbs...book or no book!!! Looks like the book is wrong on this one. 30in lbs is nowhere near enough, so not a misprint on that part.
