This is just a quick post for today, I'll post more details later. I ran my 10,800 mile 04 GT (Vak upcharge and downpipes, & mopar dual exhaust) on a dyno today. Unfortuantely, they didn't have a working Fan and had to run the morning cars heat soaked (I was one of them
).The best of 3 runs: 199.2 WHP and 246.1 lbs torque. |

Unfortunately, as I said earlier, my dynos had to be done WITHOUT a dyno fan/spray/whatever suppose to simulate the air rushing to the front of the car. A few other SRT-4's suffered the same fate as I did.
1st Run Max Power: 199.2 HP @ 5300 RPMS Max Torque: 246.1 lbs./ft @ 3700 RPMS 2nd Run Max Power: 194.4 HP @ 5300 RPMS Max Torque: 235.3 lbs./ft @ 3700 RPMS 3rd Run Max Power: 186.9 HP @ 5300 RPMS Max Torque: 237.2 lbs./ft @ 3700 RPMS I need to borrow my friends digital camera again to get a pic [ ]. As you can see, heak soak and nothing to simulate the rush of air sucks. [:0] |

It should be about 1200' elevation or close to sea level. Raw numbers form the dyno.

Hey PTGT, Were those #'s at the wheels.Your first post say WHP then others don't. I would imagine that to be the case. I am sure the heat effected you after the first run with no cool air involved.

Opps, forgot the W [
]. Yes, it's WHP.The sensors and PCM does a pretty good job in sensing that their isn't sufficient air flow going through the front of the car. Hense, degrading dyno numbers. |

PTGT_Boy, have you made any additional mods since your last run at Ontaio, or do these HP numbers equate to your last 1/4 mile times? What is the DCX published HP for your car stock?

I haven't made any modifications to my car since the last run on September 18th. The California Speedway Results for September 18th lists my current setup and mods.
DCX publishes 04 GT's are suppose to put down 220 HP and 245lbs/ft. Torque. When DCX & Dodge publish HP numbers, they are WHP for Manual Tranny cars. The stock PCM does a pretty good job in keeping the car running at a set variable 220/245. Gary C dynoed his stock 03 GT (manual) and got 209 WHP and 245lbs./ft. Torque (he ran in different conditions than I did, my dynos were not at an ideal situation). For the past few months, I concluded that exhausts and any modifications to the intake is pointless if you don't change the PCM (Stage 1 or boost controllers). However, reducing weight on the PT nets better results (for the 1/4 mile time, not dyno), since the stock PCM cannot control that variable of the PT. I did some additional research wondering why my PT isn't touching into the high 14's too easy with 200 WHP. I found a few websites listing manual GT's weighing 3,304 lbs w/o driver and the autos weigh 3,311 w/o driver. Given that weight factor, I can see why I'm not comming close to the 14's. |
