SakiGT, where did you get the Mopar BOV? I have looked at the mopar shops on this web site and some local dealerships and no luck. Did it come powder coated blue or...
Let us know where you happened across the goods.[8] Nice looking PT- are you a big Girl-Racer? You have that whole stealthy-dark overlord thing going on. Good job and good luck dropping into the 13's! That will be impressive, especially with a stock exhaust!

Ebay, it comes blue, and If I get into the 13s WITH an exhaust Ill be surprised. Not sure if I want to do drag radials now or not. Worried about the driveability of this thing outta college. Last Chrysler I buy until they fix these tranny issues.

stock BOV dumps boost back into turbo when you back off the power (ie. to shift gears) and can cause the turbo to slow down a bit.
The Mopar "add on" BOV dumps the extra boost to atmosephere and maintains turbo speed better. More huff and puff.......

We really have beat this topic into the ground on previous posts but there is no power increase with the bov and stock it actually can keep the turbo spinning and cool it. Noise maker only, even the DC engineers said this.

How good does it sound? I was looking at an RFL from HKS ... but since they dont make anything for the PT and it would have to be all custom, I decided to go with the Mopar one ... Im just hopeing that it sounds good!

Default OEM BOV (SVA) Pics here

The OEM BOV is called a Surge Valve Actuator or SVA. It does not blow off to the atmosphere, so BOV is a misnomer The vacuum solenoid that operates it is called the "Surge Solenoid." It is the middle one, numbered 3 mounted on the right shock tower. The valve reduces boost when vacuum is applied to it by opening a passage between the output and the input of the charge air turbine. If the vacuum line is opened, there wil be maximum boost. I thought mine was stuck so I disassembled it. Not stuck. The easiest way to remove the right bolt is to point your 10mm combination wrench straight down. Helps if it has a ratchet drive built into the box end.
