Default Silicone RTV=bad O2 sensor

[:I]I have noticed on several posts that people are using silicone RTV to seal BOV's, throttle bodies and air intakes.I had read somewhere that the silicone coats the O2 sensor ceramic basicly killing the sensor. On old cars before computers and O2 sensors that would not be a problem. If some of you are having trouble after a modification maybe it's what you used and how you used it.Maybe there is an expert out there that can elaborate or dispute what I have stated.

There are RTV's that are supposed to be safe to use with O2 sensors. Hopefully that is what everyone is using.
