Default Pillar Pod and Gauges installed

Finally got my pillar pod, boost gauge and pyrometer gauge installed. Many, many thanks to hyracer (Deen) for coming over Saturday morning and using his expertise to get everything installed. It took longer than we expected but we got it done and I'm very happy . Tried to take pics but it's night time and the flash reflects on the gauges and the pic is poor. Will take pics on Monday before I go to work.....
When we were done Deen and I went for a spin on the back roads. He was impressed with how hard my GT pulls with Adam's V.A.K. ucp. He's a convert now as he wants one, too. Tried to talk me into selling him mine. HA HA HA. Not a chance. .....Deen brought his 700 hp Vette to my place in it's trailer. I couldn't help but drool []. It looks so cool with that big blower. He spent the night and left early Sunday morning for the Woodburn track. I met up with him later and got to meet his daughter Stacy, a very nice young lady and a drag racer. I missed his first run. Stacy took the second run but something went wrong down the track and it died at the end of her run. She had to be towed back. Deen figured it might be the battery wasn't holding a full charge as his Vette doesn't have an alternator and the battery needs to be charged after every run. So he charged it an extra length of time and Stacy took the third run. MAN! 135 mph in the quarter and she was holding back and not giving it full throttle. Seems they had to hold back because if it's too fast then it moves up in class and the driver needs to be licensed and all kinds of extra safety equipment has to be installed. Deen says he'll have to detune it. That brought a laugh from me because here we all are trying to make our GT's go faster and he needs to detune his Vette because it's too fast. It was a great day....Well, looks like I hijacked my own thread. Oh well, I'm still pumped from all of that horsepower at the track [8)]

Yes, I had a great time over at Tom's house and as usual what you think is going to take a few hours ends up being about double that. But the hospitality was great and his wife fixed us a fine spread for dinner. The new gauges looked good and what can I say...his ride is F-A-S-T! I tried talking him into running it at the track but Tom said it was his daily driver, now here is one daily driver that could definetly get a person in trouble with Johnny law[8)]

It's been said before and I'll just say it again: You meet the nicest people that own/drive PT Cruisers! Thanks Tom and Daisy for a great weekend[^]

Yeah, where are the pictures -- I don't really believe you put a gauge pod in, so there. Show me....

You are welcome Deen. Without your hard work and expertise I would have been at it the next day, too.....Thanks for the compliment on my GT. It could get me into a lot of trouble ....I tried taking pics in the morning before I go to work but the last couple of days have been dark and rainy. The camera flash keeps coming on and whiting out the gauge faces. I work until 7pm so it's totally dark by then. The next few days are supposed to be fog then sunny. By the weekend for sure. Supposed to be really nice.

A likely story, the flash whited out the gauge faces... Put a white cloth or hankerchief over the flash and it will cut the flash intensity by half. Or maybe you really don't have a gauge pod after all and you be gis funnin wif us.

Hey Mean Green:

I need your help, please. I would love to see photos of your installation of the pod. I just purchased one with volt/boost from Maggie, and would really appreciate any guidance before I tackle it. Also--(anyone) I have a DC2 autostick, airaid, mopar duals, and I am debating if Stage 1 is worth the investment for an automatic? I know all of you 5speed GT's laud the great performance; but, on an auto??
