p1188 faults the throttle inlet pressure sensor. WHen im boosting at 15psi sometiems i get that code. RIght now i have my EBC set at 12psi. I want to see if it triggers or not. If it does not, then I will raise it till it finaly gives me the fault. I will then come up with a solution on preventing this from happening.

Anyways, you can clear it buy disconnecting the battery for a few seconds.

Yes I knew the battery disco trick ,and I bumped controller down . a bit I did see 15 pop up a couple times. It's snowing like crazy here so no more bonzi runs for a few days. By the way if you get the suppementary manuals ie powertrain diagnostics you do get the mil codes/causes/fixes.

Exhaust Depot,

I went to your website and saw alot of cool stuff that was specifically modified for the Neon SRT-4., It would be cool if you could test some of these products out on the GT Turbo too. Like the Turbo Timers... I would really like one of those in my GT.

Im sure you would sell alot more product by doing this too...

Remember to keep the bosst under 14-PSI for normal driving.

If you get a stumbling at the 4500 to 5000 RPM range is because the fuel rail is drying and going to a lean condition, this will be noticeable in second to third gear. lower the boost a llitle and the stumbling will disapear. The trick here is that the Hallman Controller lets the turbo spool faster than the factory solenoid.

Remember, baby steps... Don't rush yourself in the adjustment phase.

Ian

Ian I spent about 1.5 hours on this yesterday. I think what caused the mil was sometimes when it "spooled up" I'd see the needle "bounce" as you'd described . This occurred after a cool down . I'd thought I'd had it "spot" on before. It would pull instantly and go to 14 then only drop back to 13 or so and stay. I would have spent longer but we started get slammed with snow . So I cleared the mil in my garage and backed off the boost about a eighth turn counter clockwise.

Flashbk2 can you count the number of turns out from all the way in to give us a starting point?

FLASHBK2,

So the spiking is whats causing the code to come up?

I wonder if the More expensive controllers from Hallman (ones with Ceramic ball) would fix this spiking problem.

Is the line from your controller to the selenoid nice and short?

Also how often do the spikes occur for you and how high does it go?

All here's my tuning as remembered from yesterday . Initial setup was setting the distance so I had about 1/2" thread between knob and lock nut. I warmed motor to normal temp and mashed throttle on road ! Boost stated about 2 and only climbed to aroun 7. I took a red sharpy marker and drew a line on knob and line on valve body. Following Ian's lead I backed turned knob clockwise a 1/4 turn. Mashed the trottle again couple of times now puulling to 11 and dropping back to around 7. Adjust again another quater turn . Now climbing to 12 dropping back to 9. Adjust again 13 dropping to 10. Adjust again another 1/4 turn . Gee this is awesome ... when I mash throttle its climbing quickly to 14 and dropping back to 13. However I now see needle bounce to 15 or 16 intermittently. I was @ my destination now so prpped hood and lwet car idle for 3 minutes then shut-off. About 1.5 hours later I get in car it's stating to snow. i mash the throttle in safe area and in 3rd /4th gear it stumbles a bit and needle is bouncing to 16. The check engine pops up ! I stay off boost remainder of trip home. I stop and pull mil code (key on /off trick) . But now it's to slippery to test any longer. So I backed knob back counterclockwise 1/4 turn and reset check engine light by disc battery. Thats were i'm @ now more tweaking nessary ,plus I now have my K&n . Making ghetto intake ,now!

Even at the third setting peaking @ 13 dropping to 10, was there alot of difference noticed over stock?
