Just got back from dealers...had no boost controller and stock air box back in. They said they checked for loose connectors -ntf(no trouble found). They told me not to clear code if it happens again and bring car right in. I backed off the boost a bit more and re-installed my "outlaw" setup. Will keep you all posted . It sure was "sad" the way the car ran without the "outlaw" setup ! Boost is addictive ! .

So, it is safe to say that there is definitely a difference in engine reaction and vehicle performance???
I have ended up with a setup for normal cruising of 9-PSI in the low range and the engine still going to 14-psi at Wide Open throttle at fourth with the factory solenoid control. At the track I am using a 12-14 PSI setup. I have noticed that you have to lower the setting for normal driving or the fuel rail dries up and the engine starts to knock. This can only be corrected with an increase of fuel pressure. As of today, I have not found a way to increase fuel pressure. I am inclined on getting the Greddy profec b controller that lets you dial two different pressure settings and switch from one to the other with the flick of a switch. Exhaust depot, Can you get this controller at a good price for us? I know you have the E01 controller but the Profec b is three wires, two vacuum lines and adjust. Ian |

Most definately there is a drastic performance difference. I just re-installed my "outlaw setup" . Presently I'm running about 12-13 on initial pop and drops to about 10 and holds. I'm going to drop it still further to be "safe" but it is definately much better than stock ! I also wrapped my intake in insulation to isolate from engine heat it ain't pretty but I'll bet it helps !

Just got back from testing out the Hallman Boost Controller I put on today, OH MY GOD!!! Talk about a difference! The turbo spools so much faster now, its incredible.
With the controller on now, when you step on the gas a little and lets say the psi goes to 8, it stays there instead of dipping back down. Very cool. The first setting I tried peaked @ 14psi and goes down to about 10 or 11psi. Which is exactly where I want it. I drove pretty hard and didnt see anything over 14, so I beleive im on the safe side. A big thanks goes out to Ian and Flashbk2 for all their great input on this subject. Now I just gotta clean out my engine compartment from all the salt and crap from winter :-( Matt 2003 GT Cruiser Edited by - Chipmunk on 04/10/2003 16:43:56 Edited by - Chipmunk on 04/10/2003 16:45:21 |

Well,
Went to the track yesterday but got a rain check.... Yep, It rained.... Couldnt do anything. I had a great testing list for yesterday but nothing. Had brought the car to factory setup with all the silencers and no boost controller for the first pass. Was going to install the controller and test, later remove the silencers and test again, finally increase boost again and retest. Yesterday was all the passes you can do for $7.00. O well, will do it next week. Ian |

Well I finally got the greedy profec b hooked up and it is much better than before but it still drops back down to 10 to 11 pounds in 1st and 2nd gears. In third it stays at 14 and havn't got to 4th yet to tell what it does. I hooked it up to the line at the back of the turbo and the boost reg line on the actuator. I then tried it by hooking it up to the rear turbo output line and the rear of the turbo but it still drops. It is better and when you turn the controller off it is like stock. I'm running low at 11 and high at 14. I don't have the remote switch yet but plan to get it so I can leave the line at 8 or so in low and then hit high to go to 14 so it gets better traction. No codes with eithwer hook up but if anyone has tried something that will keep the boost up to 14 with no drop let me know. The difference is well worth the cost of the greedy b. It's like a different car now.

Well I got another p1188 again last nite . I got when cruising and not into boost @ all. Took it to the dealer ,today supposedly ordering a sensor. On the plus side I let my wife drive the car with/without the boost contrller . She says she wished some of my higher dollar mods showed as much as difference as this $50.00 one ! .
